About
& disclosure
One page, no fine print: who writes this site, how the facts are checked, and where the money comes from.
Who makes this
thingstodohiroshima.com is part of Uncompromised Travel, an independent network of city decision guides. Every page answers one question a traveller is actually asking — which route to Miyajima, whether the castle is worth the walk now the keep is shut, day trip or overnight — and shows its working. No tourism board, attraction, hotel or tour operator pays to appear here or to change a verdict. Start from things to do, ranked or the planning hub.
The memorial pages are written differently on purpose: the Peace Memorial Park, the museum, the Dome and the testimony sessions carry no verdict badges, scores or "worth it" framing. They get logistics and context, not a rating.
How facts are checked
Verdicts are editorial judgements. They rest on what operators and public bodies publish — admission prices, fares, ferry and ropeway tables, reservation rules, the city's own ceremony programme — plus patterns that recur in public traveller reports, which the pages name as such rather than passing off as fact. Prices are given in yen with a dollar conversion; the yen figure is the real one.
The site launched on 4 August 2026 with its prices checked then. Since then the 58 pages readers and AI assistants use most have been re-checked against primary sources — the museum, the shrine and the ropeway operator, JR West and Hiroden, the city and prefecture — and whatever no longer held was corrected or cut. Those pages carry a Sources checked date in their header and a Sources list naming the official pages behind their numbers. Figures no official source publishes — daily budgets, typical waits, time needed — are this site's own estimates. Pages without that date were last checked in August 2026.
Two things this site never does: it does not publish opening hours (they change too often for a printed copy to stay right — the Google Maps link on each venue is current), and it does not invent ratings, review counts or "9 out of 10 travellers" statistics.
Corrections
Found a price that moved, a shop that closed or a rule that changed? Write to [email protected]. A confirmed correction is fixed on the page and moves its Sources checked date.
How the site makes money
Some outbound booking links are affiliate links: if you buy through one, the platform pays this site a commission and your price does not change. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code. The programs in use: GetYourGuide, Klook, Tripadvisor, Agoda (hotels, via the Agoda Partners programme), Airalo (eSIMs), SafetyWing (travel insurance), Kiwi.com (flights), GetTransfer (airport transfers), Radical Storage (luggage), TicketNetwork (event tickets) and TourRadar (multi-day tours). No operator pays for placement or a verdict, and a SKIP stays a skip when a partner sells tickets for it.
One plain note on Klook: its buttons here open Klook's homepage, not a specific product, so they are labelled Search Klook — the card says what to search for.
The site runs Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help and which links get used. No ads, no sponsored posts, no selling of reader data.
